Head of Partnerships

About the Foundation

The OpenClaw Foundation is the steward of the world's largest open source AI agent project. Its mission is grounded in a foundational conviction: that AI must be open, safe, and ultimately owned by the individuals and communities who use it.

The Foundation advances research into human-agent relationships, maintains and hardens the OpenClaw codebase, and establishes interoperability standards for the emerging agent era.

Modeled after organizations like the W3C and Linux Foundation, the Foundation serves as a neutral, multi-stakeholder organization bringing together AI labs, infrastructure providers, enterprises, developers, and open-source communities around shared, vendor-neutral infrastructure.

The Role

The OpenClaw Foundation is seeking a Head of Partnerships to build and lead the Foundation's partnerships function from 0→1.

This is a revenue-generating, highly technical partnerships role. You will own the strategy for identifying, developing, pitching, and closing relationships with organizations that can advance the OpenClaw ecosystem and financially support the Foundation through memberships, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and donations.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, business development, ecosystem development, and fundraising. The ideal candidate is technically credible with CTOs, engineering leaders, and technical founders, while also being a strong commercial operator who can develop a pipeline, make a compelling pitch, negotiate, and close.

This is a build role: you will create the strategy, build the pipeline, pitch OpenClaw, close partners, and establish the systems required to scale the function.

What You'll Do

Build the Partnerships Function

  • Define and own the Foundation's partnerships strategy, target segments, partnership models, and value proposition.

  • Build a prioritized pipeline of AI labs, cloud providers, infrastructure companies, enterprises, developer platforms, and other strategic partners.

  • Establish a repeatable process from prospecting and qualification through pitching, negotiation, close, and partner management.

  • Develop the Foundation's partnership materials, positioning, and membership / sponsorship offerings.

  • Establish KPIs around pipeline, conversion, partnership revenue, donations, and ecosystem impact.

Drive Revenue & Fundraising

  • Own a meaningful revenue target across Foundation memberships, strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and donations.

  • Personally develop and manage relationships with senior executives, technology leaders, foundations, and corporate decision-makers.

  • Pitch the Foundation and OpenClaw's strategic importance to prospective partners and financial supporters.

  • Develop tailored partnership proposals and negotiate financial commitments.

  • Turn initial relationships into long-term strategic partnerships and recurring financial support.

Sell OpenClaw With Technical Credibility

  • Become deeply knowledgeable about OpenClaw's architecture, capabilities, roadmap, developer ecosystem, and broader agentic AI landscape.

  • Lead technical and strategic discovery with prospective partners.

  • Understand partner architectures, infrastructure, developer ecosystems, and business objectives.

  • Clearly articulate why OpenClaw matters and identify opportunities for partners to integrate with, contribute to, or build on the platform.

  • Engage credibly with engineers, CTOs, technical founders, and infrastructure leaders.

Build the Ecosystem

  • Develop executive-level relationships across AI, cloud, infrastructure, enterprise technology, and developer ecosystems.

  • Work with Engineering and Developer Relations to create meaningful technical engagement opportunities for partners.

  • Coordinate partner onboarding, integrations, contributions, and ecosystem initiatives.

  • Bring market intelligence and partner feedback back to Foundation leadership.

  • Represent the Foundation at conferences, technical forums, and executive meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, strategic alliances, enterprise technology, technical sales, solutions architecture, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of building partnerships from 0→1 and generating meaningful revenue or financial commitments.

  • Demonstrated ability to personally source, pitch, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships.

  • Strong technical fluency in software, APIs, developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, AI/ML, or distributed systems.

  • Ability to engage credibly with engineers, technical founders, CTOs, and senior infrastructure leaders.

  • Strong understanding of the AI ecosystem and genuine interest in agentic AI.

  • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong commercial instincts and comfort owning a revenue target.

  • Ability to operate independently and build structure in an early-stage environment.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with open-source software, developer ecosystems, or technology foundations.

  • Existing relationships with AI labs, cloud providers, infrastructure companies, or technology platforms.

  • Experience with corporate philanthropy, nonprofit fundraising, sponsorships, or foundation memberships.

  • Technical background in software engineering, solutions architecture, developer relations, or product.

  • Experience with standards bodies, industry consortia, or open-source governance.

Success in Your First Year

Within your first 12 months, you will have:

  • Built the Foundation's partnerships function from 0→1, including strategy, pipeline, processes, and partnership infrastructure.

  • Established a compelling and repeatable value proposition for Foundation members and strategic partners.

  • Built a substantial pipeline across AI, infrastructure, cloud, enterprise, and developer ecosystems.

  • Personally closed significant financial commitments through memberships, partnerships, sponsorships, and donations.

  • Established relationships with a portfolio of high-priority strategic partners and executive champions.

  • Driven meaningful technical integrations, contributions, and ecosystem initiatives.

  • Created a scalable partnerships engine that can support the Foundation's long-term growth and financial sustainability.

This is not a relationship-management role. You will define the strategy, build the market, make the pitch, close the partnerships, and build the function around you.
